Shaping Our New Communities: Public Consultation

Wokingham Borough Council is conducting a survey on upcoming development within the Borough and the Earley NAG has been asked to make residents aware.

An on-line version is available on its website here or you can download  a PDF version from our website here (print and post free of charge), responses must be in by February 22nd.

The official news release from Wokingham Borough Council follows:
"As you will probably already be aware, 13,000 new homes are due to be built across the Wokingham Borough area by 2026.
With this in mind, Wokingham Borough Council is keen to consider how we can best support the development of “a good community feel” within our expanded communities. As an early part of this work, we are inviting input from individuals, groups, businesses and other organisations with an interest in how our new developments evolve on the following issues:

How we involve existing community stakeholders in planning these new communities
How we shape appropriate community facilities within the new developments
How we support residents with the new development areas to build social networks and access the community facilities and services they require, and integrate with existing, nearby communities
How the new community facilities might be managed in the future. We value your views and would encourage you to take some time to complete our survey which is a first step towards further discussion around these themes, and will inform the development of a Strong and Integrated New Communities Strategy.

The survey is available as a paper copy on request, or online at: If you have any questions or would like to know more please contact Alison Munro at or ring her on 0118 974 6311, Tuesday to Thursday.”
